IND vs SA: India beat South Africa by 203 runs




In the first Test match in Visakhapatnam, India defeated South Africa by 203 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the three-Test series.

On the last day of the game, the South African batsmen, who were chasing a difficult target of 395 runs, were dismissed for 191 runs. At one time, South Africa lost eight wickets for just 80 runs.

Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was the hero of the fifth and final day of the match, who equaled Sri Lanka spinner Muttiah Muralitharan's world record for the fastest 350 wickets.

Like Muralitharan, Ashwin took his 350th wicket in his 66th Test.

As of today, off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan is the highest bowler in Test cricket. Muralitharan, who retired in 2010, took 800 wickets in 133 Tests.

India had set a target of 395 runs for victory in the last innings in front of South Africa.

Rohit's century in both innings
In the first Test, Indian captain Virat Kohli decided to bat first after winning the toss and declared the first innings by scoring 502 runs for seven wickets.

Both openers Rohit Sharma and Mayank Agarwal, who were the heroes of the first innings, shared 317 runs for the first wicket.

Mayank Agarwal scored 215 and Rohit Sharma scored 176 runs.

South Africa's first innings was reduced to 431 runs. Opener Dean Elgar scored 160 and wicket keeper Quinton De Kock scored 111 runs.

The most successful bowler in the first innings was Ashwin who took seven wickets.

India declared the second innings by scoring 323 runs for four wickets.

Once again, Rohit Sharma was the hero of this innings, who scored 127 consecutive centuries.

By doing this, Rohit Sharma became the first opener to score a century in both innings of his first Test in 144 years of Test history.

At the same time, he also became the second opener after Sunil Gavaskar to score a century in both innings of a Test match.

After the second innings, India gained a total of 394 runs. Cheteshwar Pujara scored 81 runs.

In the second innings, India's most successful bowler Mohammed Shami got five wickets while Ravindra Jadeja got four wickets and Ashwin got a breakthrough.
