World Athletics Championship: Anu Rani throws spear to record distance, medal hopes
Indian athlete Anu Rani has raised hopes of a medal by throwing a javelin (javelin) to a record distance on Monday in Doha. He secured a place in the final, setting a new national record.
She is the first Indian female athlete to make the final of the javelin throw.
The final match of the competition is to be held on Tuesday.
Anu Rani broke her own national record in the qualification round of the World Athletics Championship javelin throw competition.
He threw the spear 57.05 meters away in his first attempt. In the second attempt, his spear covered a distance of 62.43 meters which is better than his national record of 62.34 meters.
He made this national record in the Federation Cup held in Patiala in March this year.
In the third attempt, the spear was thrown 60.50 meters which placed her third in her group.
She is the first Indian woman to cross 60 meters in a javelin throw. She has improved the national record many times.
Anu Rani won a silver medal at the Asian Athletics Championships this year.
