Demand to increase security of "worried" Muslims over Ayodhya
Before the Supreme Court's decision in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute case, the "concerned" Muslim community has demanded the district administration in Ayodhya to deploy central paramilitary forces in their densely populated areas.
According to the Times of India, representatives of the Muslim community raised this demand during their meeting with the Faizabad administration.
Jamia Ulema Hind, Ayodhya unit general secretary Hafiz Irfan said, "We have full faith in the administration that they will ensure peace. But the deployment of central paramilitary forces will provide further comfort to the community."
Faizabad SSP Ashish Tiwari said, "Police have already been deployed in Muslim-dominated areas and soon paramilitary forces will also be deployed. Civil police and some CRPF personnel are also keeping a close watch in these areas."
