New Zealand won the two-match series 1–0 (ICC TEST CHAMPIONSHIP)

The two-Test series between England and New Zealand was not part of the ICC Test Championship, due to which no team got any points from this series. New Zealand won the two-match series 1–0. New Zealand won the first Test by an innings margin while the second Test was drawn due to rain on the last day.

Recently there were series between India and Bangladesh, Australia and Pakistan, West Indies and Afghanistan and England and New Zealand. The West Indies beat Afghanistan in the only Test in Lucknow but the West Indies did not get any points due to Afghanistan not being part of the Test Championship. India beat Bangladesh 2–0 and Australia beat Pakistan 2–0.

England and New Zealand are undoubtedly part of the Test Championship but the series between the two was out of the Championship. Actually, all the teams have to play a total of six series in the Test Championship from August 2019 to June 2021, in which three series are to be held at home and three series on foreign ground.

The boards of both countries had approved the series even before the start of the Test Championship, due to which it could not be a part of the Test Championship.

India currently leads the ICC Test Championship with 360 points.

Australia is second with 176 points, New Zealand third with 60 points, Sri Lanka fourth with 60 points and England fifth with 56 points.
The accounts of West Indies, Pakistan, Bangladesh and South Africa are not open yet.
