 Musharraf has a case of treason


 A special Pakistan court (former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf sentenced to death for treason) sentenced former military dictator and former President Pervez Musharraf to death on Tuesday in a sedition case. A three-member bench of the special court headed by Chief Justice Waqar Ahmed Set of the Peshawar High Court sentenced the former military dictator to death by a 2-1 vote-a-death sentence. A detailed account of the verdict in this case will be released in 48 hours. Musharraf, an unhealthy former president, is currently in Dubai City, United Arab Emirates.

The sedition case against Musharraf was pending since December 2013.

The former military dictator was accused of enforcing the Emergency in the country from November 3, 2007.

On 27 November, the court stayed the decision of the special court

A sedition case was registered against Musharraf in December 2013 while he was convicted on 31 March 2014.

The prosecution had put all the evidence before the court in September the same year.

The trial of Musharraf's case continued at a very slow pace and meanwhile he left Pakistan in March 2016 and settled abroad.
