BJP sent a notice of 500 crores for showing Manoj Tiwari's dance on AAP's campaign song

BJP sent a notice of 500 crores for showing Manoj Tiwari's dance on AAP's campaign song

Following a video tweet by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the Delhi BJP on Sunday complained to the Election Commission and sent a defamation notice to the Aam Aadmi Party seeking damages of Rs 500 crore.  In fact, Aam Aadmi Party tweeted a video in which Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari was seen dancing to the tune of Aam Aadmi Party's promotional song for the upcoming assembly elections.

The video appears to be an edited version of Tiwari's Bhojpuri album with the song 'Lage Raho Kejriwal' playing.  Manoj Tiwari said, "Who gave the Aam Aadmi Party the right to use my video for its theme song for elections."

Manoj Tiwari said that a complaint has been made to the Election Commission about the video and a demand of Rs 500 crore has been demanded for damages for defamation and infringement of intellectual property rights.

BJP leader Neelkant Bakshi said that the use of Tiwari's face in AAP's campaign shows that he is more popular than Kejriwal. Aam Aadmi Party has not received any response from him at present.  Significantly, on February 8, Delhi will be voting for the assembly elections and on February 11, the results will be out.
