Delhi Assembly Election 2020: BJP, Congress may announce names of candidates today after marathon meeting

The list of Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidates for the Delhi Assembly Election 2020 is likely to be released on Friday.  In Delhi, the meeting of the top leaders of both the parties on the candidates took place on Thursday.  The central committee met till late in the BJP office.  Many people including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, National President Amit Shah and National Executive Chairman JP Nadda attended this meeting.

Earlier, the Congress Party also held an important meeting.  It is being said that no final decision has been made on the names of the candidates in the meeting.  Now state leaders say that the Congress list may be released later on Friday.  If sources are to be believed, a final decision has not yet been made on the names of many seats.

The Congress top leadership has directed all senior leaders of Delhi to contest this time.  But some party leaders are seeking seats in the seats where they are asking for tickets.  Due to this, the party has not yet taken any final decision on it.  It is believed that on Friday, the party leadership will take a final decision only after considering it again and release the list of candidates.

At the same time, the BJP Central Election Committee meeting on Thursday night considered the candidates for the Delhi Assembly elections.  The meeting, which was held in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was presided over by party chief Amit Shah.  The party's working president Jagat Prakash Nadda, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, Syed Shahnawaz Hussain, etc. were present in the meeting.

The elections to the 70-seat Delhi assembly will be held on February 8 and the results will come on February 11.  In the election, BJP is facing the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).  AAP has already announced the names of all its candidates.
