Republic Day

Happy Republic Day 2020: '70 year constitution', becomes an important weapon to raise voice, let's look at its history

Republic Day 2020: Republic Day is celebrated on 26 January every year in India.  It is a national festival whose importance also increases because people of all castes and classes celebrate it together.  Bharat Ratna constituted the constitution of the country under the leadership of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, after which India became a republic.

Republic Day 2020: On 26 January 2020 we are going to celebrate the 71st Republic Day of India.  Our Constitution is 70 years old.  In all these years, the Constitution has got 104 amendments and has increased from 395 Articles and eight Schedules to more than 450 Articles and 12 Schedules.  It is the constitution itself which has become an important weapon to raise voice against the government or policies.  Let's know the history and importance of the Republic of India.

History of Republic Day- In 1947, when the country became independent, it felt the need to make plans to run the country smoothly.  Its responsibility was given to a committee formed under the leadership of Dr. BR Ambedkar.  This committee made the constitution within 3 years i.e. on 26 November 1949.  Entirely implemented in India on 26 January 1950.  Every year since then, this day has been celebrated as Republic Day.

Importance of Republic Day- Republic (gana + tantra) means rule by the people for the people.  It took about 2 years, 11 months and 18 days to make the Constitution of India.  Ambedkar, the chief chairman of the committee, formulated the constitution thoughtfully for the countrymen.  It is one of the largest constitutions in the world in which its makers have tried to incorporate the good features of many of the world's constitutions into their constitution.  This is also important because on this day India has the distinction of becoming a republican nation.

Security increased in Delhi due to Republic Day, security forces deployed
National holiday - Republic Day is celebrated every year on 26 January, along with this day has been declared a national holiday by the government.  On 26 January, this day is celebrated with laughter and joy in all the state including Delhi, the capital of India, paying tribute to all the patriots and freedom fighters.  Our security soldiers in Delhi take out the parade, demonstrate their modern military capability and assure us that the army is capable of protecting us.  Countless people from different regions of the country come to see this ceremony and be a part of this moment of glory.

Children have special enthusiasm - Even though this day is a national holiday, flag hoisting takes place in schools and workplaces.  On this day children wear new clothes and start crowding in the school from morning itself.  Many children recite speeches and poetry.  Along with this, many people also like to eat Jalebi on this day.  At many places, events like essay competition are also organized.  People also like to watch the live broadcast of the parade happening in Delhi.
