China proposed a close door meeting
All members including Britain, France protested
All countries said - Kashmir issue bilateral
Pakistan has been disgraced in the United Nations on the Kashmir issue. In fact, China proposed a close door meeting on the Kashmir issue under the AOB (Any Other Business) in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). China had proposed this proposal on the appeal of Pakistan, for which the date of December 24, 2019 was fixed, but the meeting could not be held then.
China raised the Kashmir issue during the UNSC meeting, which was opposed by 10 members along with permanent members France, America, Britain and Russia and said that there is no need to take up the matter here.
The remaining members protested
Sources have told India Today that after August 2019, the initiative taken on the close door meeting on Kashmir could not succeed. No one accepted China's proposal. Sources say that all the other 14 members of UNSC believe that this was not a matter that needed discussion.
Pakistan's lies revealed
Syed Akbaruddin, the Indian envoy to the United Nations, told India Today, 'We are happy that the reality of the baseless allegations leveled against Kashmir by Pakistan's representatives at the United Nations came to light. Pakistan uses China to make its intentions successful internationally. Pakistan spreads lies to hide the situation here.
France against China's proposal
On China's proposal at UNSC, French diplomatic sources said, 'France has once again noted the request of UNSC member (China) to raise the Kashmir issue. The situation in France has not changed and it is very clear that the solution to the Kashmir issue should be resolved by India and Pakistan through bilateral negotiations.
Everyone accepted Kashmir issue bilaterally
On the Kashmir issue, Britain said that it is a bilateral issue and it has nothing to do with the United Nations. Like Britain, the US too said that this is not the case of UNSC. Indian Ambassador Akbaruddin said that efforts are being made by the Indian government to normalize the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, but Pakistan is trying to make a mess.
India expressed happiness
Syed Akbaruddin said, 'We are glad that China's effort was seen as a distraction and many of India's friend countries said that the matter is bilateral and there is no need to raise it before the UNSC. Pakistan should negotiate with India and find a solution to the matter.
Estonia also reported a bilateral issue
Apart from France, Britain and the United States, another member of the UNSC called the Kashmir issue as bilateral. In a program in New Delhi, Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Rinsloo said that this is a bilateral issue.
Things are normal in Kashmir
On the appeal of Pakistan, China raised the issue of Kashmir in front of UNSC when India got diplomats from 15 countries to visit Jammu and Kashmir. India has recently given concession in broadband and 2G services in Jammu and Kashmir. With this, some political prisoners have been released.
