Shirdi closed today against Uddhav Thackeray's statement on Sai Janmabhoomi, temple will remain open

Shirdi closed today against Uddhav Thackeray's statement on Sai Janmabhoomi, temple will remain open

Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray's statement about Sai Baba's birthplace in Shirdi, Maharashtra has created a ruckus.  A shutdown has been called in Shirdi today against Uddhav Thackeray's statement.  However, Sai Baba's temple will remain open during this time.  This information has been given by the news agency ANI.  Earlier, the temple administration denied reports of Shirdi's Sai temple being closed.  In fact, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray described the birthplace of Sai Baba as a stone.

Deepak Mughalikar, the chief executive officer of the Sai temple, said on Saturday that there were some reports going on in the media that the Sai temple in Shirdi would remain closed on January 19.  I want to clarify that this is just a rumor.  The temple will remain open on 19 January.

Let us tell you that the controversy arose over the decision of the Maharashtra government to develop the stone as a pilgrimage center.  BJP MP Sujay Vikhe Patil asked why the issue of calling Pathri the birthplace of Saibaba has come up only after the new government came.  Patil also said that the people of Shirdi can also fight a legal battle on this issue.  On the other hand, former Chief Minister Ashok Chavan said that there should be no opposition to the facilities offered to devotees in the stone due to the dispute at the birthplace.

Shirdi, located in Ahmednagar district, was inhabited by Saibaba in the 19th century, where today lakhs of devotees visit it every year.  The controversy started when Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray announced a grant of Rs 100 crore for the development of the stone in Parbhani district.  Some devotees believe that Saibaba was born in a stone.

NCP leader Durrani Abdullah Khan on Thursday claimed that there is enough evidence that Saibaba was born in Pathri.  He said, Shirdi is the karmabhoomi of Saibaba while the stone is his birthplace and both places have their own importance.  According to Patil, the residents of Pathri never took up the matter and Saibaba never said about his place of birth.
